Project Graduation began here in Maine in 1980 after Oxford Hills Comprehensive School lost seven of their students in a string of accidents due to drinking and driving during the commencement season. Since then, it has become a rite of passage for many high schools across the country. Parents, schools and communities make a commitment to offer an alcohol and drug-free night of entertainment as an alternative to the student run, post-graduation parties. Volunteers put many hours of time and energy into planning a night of fun, food, and activities to keep kids safe.
Project Graduation is funded solely by parents and community sponsors. We are asking for $100.00 from each family to help cover costs. Participating in Project Graduation is voluntary, but there has been 98% participation in years past and we hope to continue the trend. If you have difficulty paying this amount, please contact Scott Buchanan.
We have scholarship money available and it will be completely confidential. If you are able to pay more than $100, please consider a contribution to the scholarship fund for others.
