Project Graduation began here in Maine in 1980 after Oxford Hills Comprehensive School lost seven of their students in a string of accidents due to drinking and driving during the commencement season. Since then, it has become a rite of passage for many high schools across the country. Parents, schools and communities make a commitment to offer an alcohol and drug-free night of entertainment as an alternative to the student run, post-graduation parties.  Volunteers put many hours of time and energy into planning a night of fun, food, and activities to keep kids safe.

Project Graduation is funded solely by parents and community sponsors. We are asking for $100.00 from each family to help cover costs.  Participating in Project Graduation is voluntary, but there has been 98% participation in years past and we hope to continue the trend.  If you have difficulty paying this amount, please contact Scott Buchanan (

We have scholarship money available and it will be completely confidential.  If you are able to pay more than $100, please consider a contribution to the scholarship fund for others.
